    Hi Mode,

ummed and ahhed about responding as I know it sends the partisan hacks and RWNJ's into a frenzy, put most of them on ignore yesterday as nothing bores me more than partisan thinking. Anyway, here goes...

Most of what you just described is a textbook example of Liberal Party talking points being disseminated by Newscorp media and being swallowed as fact by the public.

"Teals" was a term invented by a Newscorp journalist. "Teals" don't technically exist, eg Kylie Tink wore Pink.
Cathy McGowan who won the seat of Indi off Sophie Mirabella as an independent is considered the founder of what is now known as the "Voices Of" movement, community led politics.
"Voices of Indi" was the inspiration behind "Voices Of Warringah"
"Voices of Warringah" was behind the Steggall candidacy, which essentially ran off the back of the "Vote Tony Abbott out" movement.
At the time Steggall was voted in, I believe SHaC was still a paid up member of the Kooyong 200 club, predominantly anonymous donors supporting Josh Frydenburg. SHaC had a very public falling out with Frydenburg which involved Frydenburg sending SHaC his donation cheque back to him. Huge mistake Josh, massive.
So in 2022, with a dictator as PM seeking re-election, and a Treasurer who was very bad at his job, the "Voices of" movement gained momentum in more locations.
As "Voices of" movements grew, more candidates were nominated, and as the donor registers show, SHaC/Climate 200 did donate to some "Voices Of" candidates. Some lost. It's ironic that his historical donations to the Kooyong 200 club were never disclosed, and never considered an issue, but his disclosed Climate 200 donations to "Voices of" candidates were considered newsworthy?
Last but not least, "Voices Of" candidates don't prepare HTV cards, they do not preference. They ask for the "1" vote against their name and ask the constituent to complete their preferences as they see fit.
Both the ALP and the LNP would be spiltting their sides in laughter over Kinghorn's family trust $100K, ashtray of the car stuff when it comes to political donations. If Kinghorn, best known for founding RAMS home loans, had any type of expectation that Zali was going to flip and turn pro-coal, he clearly wasted his money.
