From my experience, there is a benefit even if I lose money aside from tax loss. I had many years of making and losing money in my early years of playing the sharemarket. Learned a lot not to make schoolboy errors. After, I managed to start winning a lot. Only to be cut down during GFC sharemarket crash of 2007 and Covid crash in 2020. My shares haven’t got back to my top result due to BPT. I wish I had put everything in Tesla instead. But just bad luck. Anyway, the game ain’t over till it’s over.
