and in a (normally) dry country such demand would be a hindrance.
fortunately though our old coal generators were built along sea and fresh water lakes. this is the point where I truly get Dud's plan. using the coal sites saves much money and solves or delays many intractable problems, such as the fly ash that fills wetlands.
siting is also solved as people having lived near coal plants which release much worse carcinogens over decades.... hey a nuke plant is much safer, less toxic. any nimbys where coal plants have been spewing toxins over a 10-30km radius is likely being ideological.
the biggest threat is CSG extraction.
