I think a low-ball takeover is certainly on the cards if the SP continues on this trajectory.

It could possibly come from one of the existing major holders, or (purely speculation ) even from a SVW or WES offer. They are both cashed up atm and are probably two of only a handful of companies that could do a successful CR to raise some chump change, if required, in this climate. There would definately be business synergies for both. There may be regulatory hurdles for SVW though..

All speculation, of course, but it is somewhat amusing to think that the hunter could well become the hunted.
