That aside, there's plenty of cases in the US where people have shot and killed delivery guys because they thought they were going to be robbed. The current law of equal force suits me just fine, and let's face it, if you're in a life and death struggle with an armed home invader/thief/rapist, then the last thing you're thinking about are the vagaries of the law. The law of life is the inclination of the moment - in any case of justifiable survival, and everyone has a right to self-defense as written into the law.

he is on my property to pinch my car. i shoot him. the justification is that he was illegally on my property, trespassing in fact, and i happened to be cleaning my rifle at the time, managed to throw a round in the chamber and took aim.
that is all the justification i need.
