feral54,
There is no right or wrong but a debate over two sides of a coin. We are blessed in permit 9 with a prolific fold/thrust belt geology being onshore. The downside is that the fractured nature of the reservoirs combined with high pressures makes drilling difficult but those negatives are outweighed by the high upside as these conditions create prolific oil/gas fields. Being onshore it's also much cheaper, imagine chartering an offshore rig and drilling three wells over 1-1.5 years that's going to cost >$USD100m.
