I frame it as a country with political leadership which has had for decades - a spectacular lack of vision
the luck looks like it's run out.
there might be some kind of lucky save ---------- but, it'll cost someone big time - perhaps a war, perhaps some kind of huge disaster, perhaps an economic meltdown
one thing is certain - Oz isn't going to be saved by visionary ideas and an application of guts and will -------------- not going to happen
