The EU Parliament is not the only EU body directly elected “by the people”.

2 out of 7 EU bodies are directly elected.

One of those bodies, the EU Council is made up of the heads of state of each EU member. These officials only become a head of state for their country because the citizens of that country ELECTED them. This means the members of EU Council are directly elected “by the people”.

To say the “EU is unelected” when 2 EU bodies, 2 of the 3 most critical EU bodies, are directly elected is fundamentally factually wrong.

I can see it is a slogan you love to repeat, but it is simply fundamentally factually wrong.
