State Street is the lender. The identity of the short sellers in BPT are unknown.
Sometimes the shorters reveal their short positions to show how smart they are. So far the
one that stands out lately is Regal shorting Apple and Tesla. Regal if still holding the short position will be hurting as Apple just hit a new record high and Tesla has bounced back.

“Regal Partners founder and star stockpicker Phil King is shorting iPhone maker Apple and US electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla, saying the latter’s 30 per cent sell-off this year has further to go.”
