The thing that I remember most from Deagel was the line (later removed) that people would die “from a type of suicide”- not overt, but rather through a loss of interest in life; because of desperation and despair.
The more 5 billion people hear that they are going to die sooner rather than later from the shots, the more likely they will have a devil-may-care attitude towards all-out war, even nuclear war.
