1972-1975:
## Domestic Policies

- Abolished the death penalty for federal crimes[4][5]

- Cut tariffs by 25% to open up the Australian economy[5]
## Foreign Policy

So in just 3 years, the Whitlam government enacted a vast array of progressive reforms across social, economic, legal, foreign policy and cultural spheres that fundamentally reshaped Australian society.[3]
