"No country today exists - or could exist - in isolation from other countries."
I'm not suggesting any country should exist in isolation.
"Countries rely on other countries for supply of raw materials, manufactured goods and as markets for their own exports…all meaning that the quality of relations between countries needs to remain relatively strong and stable."
Classic old boy deflection. Of course there is (and should be) economic cooperation between nations, that is an entirely different proposition to that which sees politicians pinning foreign flags outside their public office because AIPAC shuffled money into their political campaign to support Israel.
"Any would-be politician with any level of intelligence realises that the interests and strength of his own country depend at least partially on the stability and continued existence of like-minded trading partner countries, and is in no way disloyal to his own country by expressing support for those other countries"
America prospered pre 1948, as did (many parts of) Europe and Australia. Jews, in the name of Israel, murdered Brits in the 1940s and attacked US forces in 1960s to name just two disasters. They have spied and lied and given sanctuary to criminals. Even without mentioning the multiple wars and moral horror of Gaza, the net gain of Israel to its allies is resoundingly negative. If the existence of Israel was to be measured on what they have brought to the citizens of their supposed international allies, we'd have been better off shutting the gate on them long ago.
