I disagree with that. ATM - I am guts up in the far right rise in France and at the very same time - across the ditch - the poms are about to give their moderate right party the heave ho.
I don't believe that far right people actually want a dictator here ----------- what IMO they want is a comfortable cost of living.
It is very clear to me that - no one really gives much of a thought to things like immigration or even politics if their monthly financial way of living is not a struggle - it things are comfortable and their services are good ------------- then - no one cares, all is good, life is good.
Only when times are hard - are they uncomfortable - only then - do they look for the enemy, the cause and for promises of anyone who will give them hope -
and in comes the far right and sometimes, the extreme right ---------- look to your example of 1930 in Germany.
Hitler rode to power on the pain of people - entrenched in poverty and hardship - brought about by severe war reparations.
Where is any proof of this concept??? ------------- right now - the UK -------- the poms are equally uncomfortable - perhaps moreso than the French ---------- but, what are the poms doing ------------ easy - they are dumping the conservatives and they will go to Labour ----------- why?
because they are uncomfortable and the right (traditional style right) is in power.
''Trumptards should think about the consequences ''
they can't - they are not capable. They are just plain in pain, the forgotten ones, fallen into the cracks and all they know is discomfort - so, they will lash out in hope.
Where Trumpards differ from the French far right atm is that America has had a term of Trump ---------- and the Americans can't see that economically - that they were better off in the last year under Biden than under Trump -------- why is that? IMO - they're still in pain - and they see Trump as the mirror for their anger - as they did before - they are incapable of looking back with any detail - particularly because many of them 'actually' believe that the election was stolen from Trump
these people are not bright - they don't have the ability to do much other than react to pain.
The French are a pretty good example atm ----------- both the lefties AND the far right supporters agree on one thing - that the biggest argument that the far right supporters have for supporting the far right is 'that we haven't tried them, we should give them a chance'
well gosh ----------- they did try them - they tried them on 10 May, 1940 and on 10 July, 1940
for anyone with an enquiring mind and any level of research skills ----------- those two examples should be enough to never never never ever give the far right a chance again
but, simple people in discomfort - don't think like that --------- it's doubtful if there's much thinking at all going on

You are correct most people vote with their back pocket. Many feel they are falling behind and they are. Trump says he will make things better for them but has shown he is all about cutting taxes to the most wealthy like himself and doesn't give a rats about those who are hurting but only cons them. Trump studies how Hitler was voted into office and then became a dictator. He parrots the same BS about minorities that Hitler did to gain support of the most uneducated. Trump is without any doubt whatsoever the very worst president in history. He is a wannabe dictator and has said he will be a dictator from day one if re-elected.
