The following article was published originally in March 2023. We are sharing it now for your perusal, but take into account that the following information may be outdated.
An Australian company, Nuheara, is entering the Israeli market with wireless noise-canceling headphones specifically designed for people with mild to moderate hearing impairments (up to 40% hearing loss). Nuheara is introducing two brands: its own IQBUDS 2 MAX and another in partnership with HP. The HP-branded model is recognized as a medical hearing aid and serves as an affordable alternative to traditional, expensive hearing aids.
The IQBUDS 2 MAX utilize beamforming microphone technology to isolate and amplify human conversations against background noise. These wireless headphones can also connect to televisions for watching shows and movies via Bluetooth or with an accessory called IQSTREAM for older TVs that do not support Bluetooth.

The headphones support seven different listening environments and noise-filtering profiles to enhance the audio experience: Home, Office, Restaurant, Workout, Driving, and Flight. They offer up to five hours of music streaming and eight hours of audio processing, with the case providing an additional 20 hours of charging. Compatible with iOS and Android, they have an IP54 rating for resistance to splashes, sweat, and light rain, and they support all popular voice assistants. Priced at NIS 2,290, they will be sold exclusively through the BUG chain.
The second model, branded as HP Pro and developed in collaboration with the tech giant, is recognized as a hearing aid and is supported by an HP app called EAR ID. This app performs a hearing test for personalized amplification in the ear. According to the company, the headphones offer up to 30% hearing improvement for individuals with mild to moderate hearing impairments.
