The economies of scale should be helpful, assuming SH plus ACCC et al approve the takeover ('merger').
However it's always sad to see companies with promise leaving the boards, although in this case we receive an eighth of an IDX share for each CAJ share held, so it's not like the Macquarie MIRA takeover of waste company BIN.
