a combination of factors causing issues at IDx. These have mostly been dealt with at CAj already. .
doctor rem is down from days of individual ownership / partnership - by around 40% compared to partner incomes.
cultural clashes mean individual bolt ons are working as silos so no gain in expertise shared across the group.
management is process centric not doctor centric so doctors feel devalued. result is decrease in productivity and engagement. And many of those with initiative/desire to grow the business are leaving to grow their own practices.
other companies are offering sweeter deals with more salary benefits including higher overall pay, payment for CPD /educational meetings, travel, cross cover bonuses, and greater payment for onerous /extra hours work. So luring IDX rads away.
sonic patient fees are often higher than IDX especially in hospital but also in pricate practice. So rem, facilities, support levels all higher. Same with I-med. So capital and IDX left with problems in retention and recruitment as they can’t offer the same as sonic or Imed without impact on their slimmer margins.
