Hal Colebatch certainly wrote a book on the subject. How much of it was fact and how much was fiction is a matter of some debate. For example the Waterside Workers at Port Kembla went on a 10 week strike in 1938 to try to block shipments of pig iron to Japan which were being used to build their imperial war machine. The Menzies government used a licencing system for wharf workers to break the strike and allow the shipments to a country we were about to go to war with. Just who was a saboteur of Australian national interest at the time is very much open to debate.
