personally, I think the stock market is for wealth creation, and short selling goes directly against that. Like others said they downramp, AI bots manipulate etc. it’s just wrong.
I also feel the government needs to make other investment medians like shares and bonds more attractive, and making property less attractive, as part of the solution to tackle the housing crisis. Banning bots trading shares in less than marketable parcels to manipulate a share price goes a long way to that
