illegal immigrants in northam, page-26

I would like to see the same assistance and expense that is applied towards asylum seekers.....be applied towards the homeless, elderly, under priviledged right here at home in OZ.....
imagine having a case worker, together with about 4 dedicated volunteers,with unlimited funding applied to all the homeless people for a start....

I am aware of a case, a family of asylum seekers in a regional town, mum dad and 8 kids, with more on the way, dedicated helpers to do everything for them, 24/7...
housing, shopping, kids to school, kindergarton, high school, then sports, entertainment etc.....
it was actually mind boggling....

and there across the road, a couple of elderly residents, in rented houses, struggling to pay the bills, needing assistance for shopping, and ordinary everyday needs....but they had no-one to assist them...they watched in awe.....as if it were a king and queen had moved into the street....
sure they may have received some assistance, from a different department.....it was not a given....
an elderly lady committed suicide when a govt dept decided to sell her home of 50 years....
no-one stepped in to help her...
then all the elderly people dying, they cannot afford the massive costs of electricity to either cool or heat their homes......
seems our govnuts big note themselves offering help to immigrants....but leave our own residents in shocking circumstances....
the wait for public housing in nsw is currently 10 years, but all across OZ, the govnuts are paying for asylum seekers to stay in motels and hotels across the country...
how about they offer the homeless similar accommodation....????
