Queens Wharf Brisbane (QWB) opening

QWB expected opening end of Augst 2024 / Early September 2024.

1. I overheard* planned moving from old Treasury Casino Brisbane to new Queens Wharf Casino end of August 2024, last week in August and there will be a two day transition. So new QWB casino opening late Aug or early September. Looking at calendar I would anticipate before the final weekend in August so as to not miss weekend revenue. We will see though it will be around this time frame

2. I saw* recruitment and training of new staff in Brisbane. New gaming staff are trained. New hospitality staff on boarding.

3. I saw* the QWB buildings are looking much closer to finished. Testing looking good.

4. I heard* all apartments at QWB apartment tower are sold out.

My analysis:

5. One of the risks with SGR is the opening of QWB. This risk for me is nil. New tenancies and a new entertainment and retail precinct including increase revenue. The location is premium. New subway station constructing nearby.

6. Whoever wins the 2024 Qld state government election shouldn't impact on the gamin licence as both major parties will need the revenue from The Star to fund government programs. Decision due for December 2024.

7. A new CEO together with the new COO and cultural changes will positively impact on chances. I anticipate CEO announcement soon and expect a quality appointee will make the difference, and recruit more C-suite talent.

8. The other risks I've commented on in other threads and anticipate these to be resolved this year. I remain bullish and continue to accumulate.
