Here is one of the stocks (JIN) which I highlighted on this thread (09/04).
The reason I had it on my watchlist was the compression in prices, I saw taking place on the daily.
I identify compression or "prices starting to tighten up" by using script to find narrow range bars (NR7) over the last 7 days.
One of the first technician's who alerted the trading world to the idea's of compression was Toby Crabel.
His book "Day trading with short term price patterns & ORB" is out of print but used copies are available for about $2000.
Did read a "free pdf" & on p105 he talks about a forceful move after a contraction & a better place to enter a trade.
This is exactly what took place on JIN 17/06.
The candle is a Shallow Wide Range Bar. If you look at the candle, the low formed just below the top of the range "formed by the last 5 candles".
Hence the word Shallow. Which is of a better quality one vs one that starts from deep inside the range.(David Vassallo)
