Dec last year saw a real breakthrough that has been repeated however...... so it may not be a joke for much longer.
Last year on a December morning, scientists at the National Ignition Facility at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California (LLNL) managed, in a world first, to produce a nuclear fusion reaction that released more energy than it used, in a process called “ignition.”
I have zero doubt the LNP are not looking at fission as a way to provide cheap, clean power in 15 years, it's just an approach to try and get them back into power next year. Lets see their pricing...... just another joke until then.
