    Yes DaisyA...And I'll go a step further about motives because I think there may even be a link to the Chinese Premier's visit to Australia. These visits are not done in a vacuum and much work is always done ahead of the visit by diplomacy to cement agreements. I'm sure not all is made public. The timing suggests that it might be linked, and that there possibly has been some appeasement made to Australia's critical minerals ambitions and the need for trade offs to resolve for China some possible softening in Australia's attitude under FIRB etc. We already know Chalmers has revised the internal approach but I do not believe there has been any detail released.

    I'm just speculating but Australia provides around 50% of the worlds lithium raw material. That is a big bargaining chip.
