If AP could have gotten away with it he would have stayed mum until he had a failed attempt to rectify it with acid etc. There was no way the failed flow test wasn't going to leak however so he had no choice. It is a conundrum as previously posted, if you can get away with being mum, it's arguably in SH interest but the risk of a leaky ship is omnipresent.
