Brilliant strategy right out of the commodity miners playbook!....how do you think BHP and Rio and Fortescue knocked out all the minnow Iron Ore producers. By increasing production massively. Yes it happened to align with China growth but Lithium is no different.
It keeps the price depressed forcing the marginal producers out of business or to shelve projects. Plants scramble for product and to secure offtake. Prices go up, but by that time you have captured the offtake with a quality ore that cant easily be replaced in the process factories and keep the marginal producers and projects wondering what happened
