Understood.
It happens.
I sometimes look back at some of the dumb investment decisions I've made over time, and thing to myself, "What on earth could was I thinking?"
Since investment involves operating without a full information set, the missteps can never be avoided completely.
So the protection for the portfolio - especially when it comes to microcaps and/or poor quality companies - needs to be appropriate position sizing and mercurial sell discipline when pre-determined investment milestones fail to materialise.
