yes..... a HUGE YES!..... virtual power plants, community energy hubs, are an important means of localising energy supply that is easier to build than most other forms of energy generation. in my small town maybe 20% have solar panels.... far less than the national average of 35%.but the farming community outside of town many have solar and batteries installed.
installing a battery and PVA just outside of town, maybe a hectare at most, would provide each town of similar size with a system that could add to the grid and provide cheaper electricity for all the locals.
this was on the agenda with the Gillard govt. it should be returned to the agenda of any future govt into.
but why hasn't Albanese said anything along these lines? Albanese is not acting to reduce emissions or build the grid satisfactorily.
