Much as I hate to admit it, a flag and a tablet of commands are not that much difference in that they are both peddling an ideology on susceptible children.

Schools should not be places of partisan politics where the govt of the day mandates their political, religious, racial or sexual agenda. Schools should be a place where all children of any background or family belief can attend and be taught skills which will make them useful to society, hopefully allow them to be gainfully employed, and other basic skills to understand how to live and prospect in the world around them.

Once you allow in either rainbow flags, tablets of the 10Cs or any such devices of political or social engineering then you open the gates for others to do the same and its a slippery slope as we are seeing and nobody ends up happy.

Let families be the primary source of such values and return to allowing the family to teach morals to their children rather than those being delivered by employees of govt departments and whatever is the latest fad at uni.

Personally sicked that both my kids were taught in science class (2 years apart in different schools) that some giant snake supposedly created all the rivers. I have no problem with people having their own beliefs but the lines between science and religion should remain distinct. In a science test a child should not be penalized for answering "erosion from rainwater and melting ice" when asked about how rivers were formed, instead of the new official answer in this country of "the rainbow serpent created them" !
