What a waste of time and resources they had to spend qualifying the technology. I will assume the company owns the rights to the materials in that testing period and were able to use it to shop around for other customers.
One would think a preliminary cost structure was discussed early on so it’s all odd that CT backed out. Cold feet. This is why we have shotgun weddings in parts of America.
