A pro Palestine motion to be effective would require the Arabs and Palestinians to actually want a Palestinian state. In 1948 there could have been a Palestinian state on the land not won militarily by Israel, but Egypt annexed the Gaza Strip and Jordan annexed the West Bank. In 2000 the Palestinians came to agreement with Israel on the borders of a Palestinian state, then reneged on the deal. Gaza residents then showed how much they value a 2 state solution by electing Hamas as their governing authority with its charter explicitly calling for the annihilation of the state of Israel. A 2 state solution does actually require at least someone among the interested parties to want there to be two states....
