the capture of vape and other illegal tobacco/nicotine products, many of which contain synthetic nicotine and so an unknown drug with unknown effects, by ABF and law enforcement in Vic is growing alarmingly and the organised crime mobs are controlling the lot.
couple this with the "Wars" between gangs and the firing of outlets and Victoria has a very real crime problem that seems insurmountable.
have we some Al Capone style gangs? why aren't the same problems occurring in NSW?
making things illegal is the key problem. the alcohol prohibition did nothing to stem supply in Aus and elsewhere. cannabis has always been available in most places since they came close to policing cannabis into "drought" conditions in the '70s. and now Vapes and other nicotine substitutes, just as synthetic cannabis and other unknown drugs rose to prominence 15 years ago.
where there is demand supply will always follow, whether it be legal or criminal.
there are better ways of managing crime than making things illegal.
our federal and state politicians need to be better aware of this and other problems of illegality.
