Hi @dim81, I think there's a few possibilities (within the outcome range you've mentioned going from $0 all the way to a spectacular result) that could necessitate additional platform lots...
OUTCOME (A) : PL5 success followed by PL6 failure...if the first attempt at 20nm doesn't deliver, seems unlikely they won't give themselves a second attempt at 20nm. So at the very least, PL7 in CY2025.
OUTCOME (B) : PL5 failure followed by PL6 success....that would be a wild ride & no doubt present plenty of new unanswered questions for both enhanced 60nm & first attempt at 20nm, so probably unlikely things would end at PL6 IMO.
OUTCOME (C) : PL5 success followed by PL6 success...if those are the results, likely another round at 20nm (PL7) & for similar reasons that PL5 is being fabricated as an enhanced version of PL4. Possibly a PL8 to test the tech at 14nm (or smaller)...a bit like the winner in an Olympics pole vault event having a crack at new world record (that ends up going past the previous world record by a least a metre) & the mega-bucks opportunities come flooding in (e.g. Ring, Ring....Hi 4DS, it's Jensen from Nvidia...would you be interested in your tech being used in.....etc. etc.)
Only time will tell.
