no, I do not remember that, and thanks for telling me. I never knew that.

It was probably in the 4 decades or so where I never had a tv or watched a tv barring walking past one in shops

I think information does need controls and warnings. Human characteristics have far too many powerful weaknesses

for instance - believing what they first hear of a situation from one person - it sets a belief in place that is not ever shifted, questioned and cannot be shifted from the brain, no matter what evidence is available.

And that characteristic transcends what appears to be intellect - for some really strange reason.

And that's usually just the beginning, with filtering mechanisms coming into strong suit to confirm the beliefs - although false.

we certainly are a fascinating animal - unfortunately, aggressive, violent and dangerous and cannot be trusted beyond recognition of those characteristics.

Just a point on something different - I've been watching TV here on and off for a while in the evening - all political stuff. I found that I can pick the righties and the communists without knowing a thing about what they are saying. Both in politicians and in supporters. Socialists as well - but it's not easy to differentiate different left groups (for me).

Then a couple of days back I saw an article where it was said by a political analyst or similar - that it's easier to pick the winner of the US Presidential debates by watching and have the sound muted - it gave the example of the debate between Carter and Regan where Carter slaughtered Regan with truth and fact - but, Regan won the debate by public perception.

This morning - there was a video of debating points highlighted between Sunak and Starmer - yesterday. (bbc or abc, can't remember)

So, I muted it and watched. I saw no clear winner - BUT, what I did see was 2 people who looked like they were apologetic and pathetically pleading with each other
Starmer looks like he's forgotten his antidepressants and Rishi looks like a fighter whose just lost the match and knows it, but the match is still in progress

pleading for the other side to accept their reasoning for whatever the hell they had said - apologising for something - and that's the best they had

it's worth a try if anyone has never tried it.
