BOQ's return on equity is apalling, its growth is the lowest of the banks, and it is losing market share. THere's a compelling reason for BOQ to merge with BEN, and that is to hide its sins and throw the rug over a few corpses. BEN has its own corpses of course, but its doing better than BOQ anyway, so why merge into BOQ when in a few years you can be the one making the takeover bid?
