the shade is always there - the sheep can duck under it when they need relief from the sun

I use an umbrella --------- I've strangely enough, never considered it 'short term relief'

it enables me to have a large area of shade, over my head, shoulders and upper body - it gives me a huge open air space above my head, as opposed to being stuck under a hat with a tiny heated airspace,

I've no idea why one would consider solar shade as a short term relief -

sheep don't eat ALL the time - they rest and they rest in shade on hot days

proving that they are rather smarter than you are atm
