Good to hear you are developing your own niche. We can be taught by others what has worked for them but when we try and repeat the process it will always be in a manner unique to ourselves. Every trading environment has its own defining idiosyncrasies but ultimately a trader must have comfort and confidence in what they do. CCI is more price extreme by the way it measures deviation from an average whereas some may find that RSI can provide a clearer picture of overbought and oversold conditions. From what you mention it sounds like you have found your comfort and confidence with CCI which in essence suggests at least to me that you are probably more a trend follower than a momentum follower. Like am meandering river a trend can last for hours, days and weeks on end but does not need high level momentum through inundation to continue. Develop you comfort level further and use it to refine your risk management profile and trading process. As for the size of your trades some people will advise to keep that to 1% of funds under management while others 5% or more but that is and can only ever be personal. Protect the capital!
