2 fires, not 3. one at a Qld coal mine:

An underground inferno is pumping out clouds of black smoke as Anglo American works to extinguish a fire at its Grosvenor Coal Mine in Central Queensland.

Emergency services are closely monitoring the wind direction and have issued a warning to people to stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.

The mine is on the outskirts of the township of Moranbah, which has a population of about 9,500.

Queensland Mines Rescue Team members worked through the night pumping nitrogen into the mine in an effort to starve the fire of oxygen.

The truck-mounted GAG unit, which has a modified jet engine, is being used to inject nitrogen into the mine while other workers attempt to seal the shafts.

Investigations are underway into the cause of a fire that damaged a wind turbine in Portland, south-west Victoria.

On Friday, Fire Rescue Victoria crews were called to Cape Nelson Road in Portland just before 8pm following reports a wind turbine was believed to be on fire.

Firefighters reported the blaze was right at the top of the turbine, and one blade had fallen off.

Fire Rescue Victoria commander Greg Kinross told the ABC it was the first wind turbine fire in the local area since the wind farms started being constructed 20 years ago.

note: theres a real risk with coal mine fires for gas and flames to leak through cracks caused by mining in the unforeseen areas of bushland around the mine. it could ignite more fires around a large area.
