The Jews who claim Israelite lineage are not Israelites at all. They are a religious sect, despised by Jesus Christ, and now defined by a rejection of Jesus.

The epistle of First John calls them "antichrists." The Jewish faith was and is a bastardization of the original Israelite faith ( The Way) that emerged after the Babylonian Captivity.

The Jews at the time of Jesus were an Edomite usurpation of Israel. Herod was one such recorded Edomite. The Samaritans rejected Edomite Judaism and in the Gospel of John, Jews call Jesus a Samaritan because of His rejection of Judaism.
