The batteries are expected to outlast the car. There are some charts which show battery degradation vs kilometres. Its not terrrible at all.
Elon Musk is a massive flog but he makes great cars. Jim Farley is also a massive flog.
shall we talk about dieselgate?
How about all the people that die in petrol cars? How about those that fall asleep at the wheel?
as for the mining side, coal mining and oil and gas are also nasty. The batteries are >99% recyclable. So the first cycle of EVs will take more resources but gets better next time around.
