I was on the other side of the transaction this time last year...letting out a property. I was amazed by not just the detail required of the applicants, but also the grovelling obsequity that they felt the situation required. Long winded cover letters about their cleanliness, interests and flair for gardening seemed to be the order of the day for the renter desperate for somewhere to live. All I wanted to know was whether they had the capacity to pay.
