@Helios11 because the permitting for route 167 will take some time, and construction for route 167 past Adina and Renard is not projected to begin before 2030 per the La Grande Alliance. No official statement has been released stating that the route 167 extension construction timeline has moved forward. PMET could potentially have a running mine by then, so why wait? Plus, the shortest connection to rail for PMET will eventually be near the Billy Diamond highway if that is built north of the Matagawi station. So why should PMET prioritize route 167? They already have all road construction compete to reach the Matagawi rail station.
