    yet Pall care, I can reliably tell you, provides inadequate relief from pain due to the reluctance of the Mater/Calvary fear of using better analgesia. even then though people are left to die in incredible discomfort over an indefinite period which can stretch out for weeks. families sit impatiently by watching the person struggle for breath and ask "how much longer can s/he keep going? why can't the doctors prescribe drugs which help her/him to die?"

    so many questions from family and friends it makes the professional boundary very stretched. and the anxious wait goes on - indefinitely.

    Pall care is good. really good. but its inadequate for many too.
