the unspoken assumptions are :
1. russia has a right to win
2. russia WILL ultimately win

that first is DEFINITELY wrong , and the second one increasingly dubious as time goes on and russian stockpiles decline , russ economy weaklens ....and sentiment at home in russia to the war becomes more negative .
