It does indeed ring a bell because this was behaviour that I used to try to report to ASIC, only to be dismissed. J P Morgan are not doing this on their own - Bank of America and Merrill Lynch and a host of others are also doing it through their brokers. The amazing thing to me is that if it is illegal, why then does the ASX allow it? It has been brought to the attention of the ASX many times.
