And what is it exactly that posters have been "blatantly incorrect" about?

Nobody knows at this stage what is going on behind the scenes or how this will turn out, so making such definetive statements now is in my view, premature.

All we know is that their appears to have been multiple bidders, from which a short-list has been made, with which AZZ will continue its negotiations until such time as an agreeable deal is made, or AZZ walk.

You, like the rest of us, have no certainty as to the end result.

However, if I was in James' shoes and I had a number of bidders who were interested in my assets (at, or around the same price) then I would be continuing to negotiate with them to try and achieve the best deal.

So I would humbly suggest that you think twice before making definetive statements about who is right or who is wrong until such time as the facts are known.
