like Albanese and the Voice referendum, Cameron misunderstood perhaps the power of negative rhetoric.

imo this is yet another example of the problem with Party-based democracy. it enables leaders with great speech writers to overwhelm the voters with emotional and alarmist language instead of facts and reality.

if ever a country is to make sensible decisions we need to remove political parties from the equation.

basing how a nation functions on ideology, or on idiotology in the case of the 3 previous LibNat govts, and not improved under the Labor mob, is a recipe for disaster.

first, above all else, a nation needs consistency in management and policy. these decisions should not be made by ambitious, self-serving party climbers of the greasy pole but by neutral and knowledgeable debate among educated people without a personal angle. decisions can then be ratified/modified or rejected by an open democratic vote.

the sewing random fluctuation between right and left leaves our country and the Brits and US in a position of inconstancy and unreliable ideologies.

VOTE INDEPENDENT and change the system of governance.

ps.... its a good thing Starmer is not charismatic.... it signifies that he's got in on a) rejection of the other, and b) on the merits of the Labour Party rather than on an emotional appeal.
