Yep I broke in to IB a year ago my my acc has sat dormant every since as IB was blaming Amscot for not transferring stock, Amscot was blaming IB. Eventually I set up a Moomoo acc and the registry called up my broker and led them though the process. 8 hour days for over a month trying to get it done. In the end 6 new bank and trading accounts before I found one that could do actually do it instead of saying they could and then not being able to once acc was set up. (was a delisting to Nasdaq) eg NAB. Piled of paperwork and certified documents for every bank account and brokerage account and some even demanded in person branch visits and then turned you away if you did not have an appointment!
