Yeah I have pondered whether that could be a legitimate outcome in the years to come too and whether we all get shafted by Simon. Use the $100m interest free and pay back significantly lower. But I don’t think the board could objectively recommend a take private at these price levels, nor would current shareholders approve. Simon having over half the vote would make it much easier for it to succeed though.
Pact shareholders really should have rejected their offers, but have since mostly accepted from the exhaustion of holding a perennially falling share. That business is much worse than DGL IMO.
