The US government and thus the military is very big on home suppliers. No different to Australia having local content in aircraft, frigate builds etc
By way of example all military garment (uniforms, webbing etc) is locally manufactured. No, “made in China” allowed which is a good concept on many fronts. I suspect that the catalyst/trade off for big contracts in the USA will be an expanded manufacturing in their jurisdiction.
This MAY explain recent share activity.
