Is Kachi no good?
People said that Kachi would not work because of altitude. Kachi is at 3,000 meters. Eramet's Centenario project due for commissioning this year is 4,000 meters. It's a DLE project.
People said that Kachi's brine was too low grade. In the next valley over PNN plan to exploit lithium that is 185 mg/Lt well below the Kachi level
People said that power supply will kill Kachi but Centenario and the PNN projects are both well away from the grid. Somehow they both plan to manage.
How is it possible that LKE can't run a 25 ktpa plant while Eramet plan to run a 30 Ktpa plan as phase one.
People say that Kachi's capex is to high but Eramet's capex is right up there at $800 million.
Maybe the 2 other projects are cheaper because they use aluminum beads in a sorption process where as LKE use ceramic beads with ion exchange. If sorption does prove to be the better method how hard will it be to change over seeing that no plant currently exists?
Finally people claimed that reinjection would not work. I think the LKE DFS was a convincing argument that it does work.
